I TANT VINS – Our History

I Tant Vins was founded in 2010 in Gandesa (Tarragona), our winemaker and producer, Joan Angel Lliberia starts this new project in Terra Alta, after more than 15 years making high quality wines from his own winery.

We have made our dream of creating a great indigenous wine range of wines designed to be an authentic introduction to the main wine-growing regions of southern Catalunya: Priorat, Montsant and Terra Alta.

The name itself gives the best clue to what it’s all about – i tant is a Catalan phrase, used when the penny drops, and something you’ve suspected all along gets confirmed. In this case, that something is the distinctive aroma and flavour of the native grapes, leaving the drinker in no doubt they have a glass of something from Catalunya in his hand.

And I Tant Vins project has continued to grow, thanks of a winery professional team formed by Joan Angel Lliberia in charge of the project, Lluis Otero in charge of viticulture and winemaking and a highly committed staff team and also by a group of friends in the different DO´s who support us.

I Tant Garnatxa Negre DO Montsant comes from vineyards planted in El Mas Roig village, Tarragona at 300 meters of altitude above the sea level with Mediterranean climate and red clay soils.

Que si Priorat DOQ Priorat comes from vineyards planted in Gratallops village, Tarragona at 350 meters of altitude above the sea level with Mediterranean climate and licorella soils.
